Sofia Manvati, Italian violinist. About her, Salvatore Accardo wrote: “a violinist who possesses a warm, powerful and captivating sound, impeccable technique, perfect intonation, and pure musicality.”
From 2024 to 2026 she is first violin of the Quartetto Noûs, a leading chamber ensemble on the international scene. Since 2020 she has formed the Duo Rodin with pianist Giorgio Lazzari, with whom she has received important recognitions, including the Premio Renzo Giubergia 2025 and the Premio Guglielmo 2023/2024. The duo stands out for its interpretative depth and careful repertoire choices, quickly establishing itself in prestigious chamber music contexts.
Her intense concert activity has led her to perform in some of the most important Italian concert seasons, including the Società del Quartetto di Milano, Amici della Musica di Firenze and Padua, the Accademia Filarmonica Romana, Musica Insieme Bologna, the Società dei Concerti di Milano, and the Festival Pianistico di Bergamo e Brescia, as well as the Chigiana Summer Festival. These are complemented by numerous international appearances, including the Cartagena Music Festival, the Oxford Chamber Music Society, the Oslo Chamber Music Festival, the Festival Resonances, the Euro Art Prague Festival, the Schiermonnikoog Festival, and the European Parliament Lunch Concerts.
Throughout her career she has received numerous awards, including the Premio MULIER 2024, and she was artist in residence for the 2022/2023 season of the Società dei Concerti di Milano, with which she undertook a tour in Italy and abroad. In June 2024 she was also invited as artist in residence by the Fondazione Bogliasco.
For several years she was a member of the Orchestra da Camera Italiana, founded by Salvatore Accardo, also performing regularly at the Auditorium Giovanni Arvedi and playing historic instruments from the Museo del Violino. Winner of numerous national and international competitions, including the Premio Roscini Padalino 2023 within Perugia Classica, she has already produced several recordings, including Dvořák’s Quartets Op. 51 and Op. 34, Violin Concerto No. 5 K. 219 conducted by Massimo Belli, and Quatuor pour la fin du temps by Olivier Messiaen.
Born in Erba in 2000, she graduated with highest honors from the Conservatorio Claudio Monteverdi under the guidance of Laura Gorna. She furthered her studies at the Accademia Chigiana and the Accademia Stauffer with Salvatore Accardo, later obtaining a second Master’s degree at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with Philippe Graffin. She is currently pursuing an Artist Diploma at the Norwegian Academy of Music under the guidance of Peter Herresthal.
